HOUSTON, TX – A pedestrian is dead after being struck by a train near downtown Houston, reports KTRK.
An unidentified male was struck by the train on the Red Line near the intersection of Main St and McGowen St. The operator of the train saw the man on the tracks and attempted to make an emergency stop.
Officers arrived on the scene around 8 p.m. and had the man removed from the tracks in about 30 minutes. He was then transported to a nearby hospital. He is said to be conscious, but nothing else is known about his current condition.
