Tuesday, a school bus from the Circleville Elementary School in the Pine Bush Central School District of the Town Wallkill, New York was involved in an accident. According to Mid Hudson News, the school bus was rear-ended by a car driven by a student. The accident happened during the afternoon and resulted in injuries to eight of the thirty-five children on the bus. The children suffered minor injuries and were taken to a local hospital.

The car involved in the incident was being driven by a Pine Bush High School student who was with her parents at the time. They weren’t injured in the accident.  Town of Wallkill police department, EMTs, and school district officials reported to the scene.

The school bus was stopped at the Goshen Turnpike at Steven Avenue when the accident happened. The injured children were rushed to Garnet Health Medical Center for evaluation. Parents of the injured students rushed to the scene or met their children at the Garnet Hospital. The injured students were sent back home later on that day.

The cause of the incident is under investigation.
