Railroad crew workers were onsite during the fuel explosion. The workers were working on a hotline on the rail when a fuel gas ignited, causing the explosion.
Once medical help arrived, one worker was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Another worker onsite, was not injured.
This fire is still under investigation, according to the Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office.

In a statement, Union Pacific officials shared their condolences to the worker’s family.
