According to Bloomberg, an oil production vessel exploded off the coast of Nigeria. Shebah Exploration and Production Co. confirmed ten crew were on board when the ship exploded. No fatalities have been publicly confirmed.
The vessel is still on fire according to Idris Musa, the director-general of the National Oil Detection and Response Agency.
This is the second incident relating to an oil facility since last year. The Trinity Spirit can store an estimated 2 million barrels of oil and produces up to 22,000 barrels a day according to Bloomberg.
