According to CBS7, a truck carrying a load of fracking chemicals exploded in a Texas neighborhood. Local residents reported feeling and hearing the truck accident blast. There are no public details regarding the truck driver or the trucking company.
A press release from the local Fire and Rescue Department confirmed the incident took place in a residential area. According to Fire Battalion Chief Bradley Reese there are no cases of personal injury and no homes were damaged.
Chief Bradley Reese explained, “When units arrived on the scene, they did find a flatbed fully involved and we later figured out it was carrying various chemicals in some large totes,”
First responders report the chemicals were in both solid and liquid states. The cause of the explosion is still under investigation.
